Visa to China

Apply for a Visa to China

Danish citizens can travel to China visa-free for stays of up to 30 days. This applies to both tourist and business travelers. If you need to stay in China for a longer period, you must apply for a visa.

If you hold a passport from another country, please contact us to check whether you need a visa.

At Alt Rejser, we can assist you in obtaining a visa for China. We also offer translation and legalization services for Danish documents required for use in China. Read more about the different types of visas for China below.

On October 4, 2018, the Chinese embassy introduced a fingerprint requirement for applications for a one-year multiple-entry Chinese visa. The submitted fingerprints are linked to the passport and remain valid for five years (or until the passport expires if it is within five years).

Order form for visa to China

It is our experience that completing the Chinese consulate's visa application can be quite challenging. Therefore, we have prepared this simplified form for you to fill out instead, and we will handle the consulate's visa application on your behalf (an additional fee of DKK 750.00 will be added to the visa price). If you prefer to complete the consulate's visa application yourself, you can do so here.

Business Visa to China

To apply for a business visa to China, you will need the following:

  • A completed visa application. Based on our experience, filling out the visa application form for the Chinese consulate can be quite challenging. Therefore, we have created a simplified visa application form that you can fill out instead, and we will handle the visa application for you (an additional fee of 750 DKK will be added to the visa cost). If you prefer to fill out the consulate's visa application form yourself, you can do so here.

For the application, you must attach:

  • A copy of your passport. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your return date.
  • One photo (passport-sized, in color, taken against a white background). You can take it yourself with your phone against a white wall. We edit and print the photo to meet the consulate's requirements (150 DKK). Read more about visa photo requirements.
  • A copy of your most recent visa to China.
  • An invitation from a business partner in China. See an example of an invitation letter here.
  • For foreign nationals residing in Denmark, also a copy of the yellow health insurance card or a residence permit card (for non-EU citizens).

You can submit these documents in person or send them to our office in Copenhagen:

In some cases, fingerprint registration is required. If this applies, we will contact you to arrange an appointment at the consulate for fingerprint registration (if necessary). We will accompany you on the day and assist with the process.

Note: If your case is urgent, we recommend sending the documents to us via a "Registered & Value" tracked letter. This means the letter must be delivered at the post office, and we should receive it the following day.

If you send it as a regular or quick letter (!), it may take up to 7 days or longer for us to receive your documents.

FAQ

A Chinese visa is an official document that grants you permission to enter China. As a Danish citizen, you must have a visa to be allowed entry into the country.

Read the requirements for the two different types of visas above. We assist you throughout the entire process and ensure that all the documentation you send us is reviewed to confirm everything is in order. If you have any questions regarding your visa application, feel free to contact us at phone +45 33 12 20 30 or email info@altrejser.dk.

The Chinese Embassy requires fingerprint registration when applying for a 1-year visa with multiple entries to China. This can only be done in person at the Chinese Visa Application Center in Copenhagen. Unfortunately, it is currently not possible to do this elsewhere in Denmark.

Once you have applied for a visa online and provided fingerprints at the Chinese Visa Application Center, you can, as a customer of Alt Rejser, get your visa within just 3 working days with express processing (read more about this above). However, we recommend applying well in advance of your departure date.

Visa-free (stay up to 90 days). Please note that as a tourist, you can enter Hong Kong from China, as Danish citizens are visa-exempt in Hong Kong. However, you cannot return to China from Hong Kong unless your Chinese visa allows multiple entries.
